Course Description: |
This is essentially a basic course in which you will learn how to print with black and white negatives in a wet darkroom to produce contact sheets and enlargements.
You will learn about the different grades of photographic printing paper and how to control the contrast and manipulate your final prints. The magic of the darkroom will be explored as you watch a print reveal itself in the developing tray.
No previous knowledge is needed. You will need to bring 35mm black and white film negatives.

Some prior knowledge/skills are useful though not essential, as students will be introduced to the basic equipment and materials. | |||
| What topics will we cover? Photograms, contact proofing, enlarging, contrast control/paper grades, manipulation of images, preparation of chemicals, darkroom setup/safety, etc. |
