Course Description:
This course leads to a City and Guilds (Pitman's ) Level 1 Award in Book-keeping and Accounts, which you can take, if you wish, for an additional exam fee. Whether you are planning to start your own business or find a better job, this practical course will build up your skills and help you work with confidence. Assessment is by final examination.
Pre Entry Requirements :
Basic ICT skills
What topics will we cover?
Topics covered include calculating tax and discounts, recording transactions, preparing and balancing ledger accounts, dealing with petty cash and preparing trial balances. Throughout the course there is extensive practice of double-entry bookkeeping.
By the end of this course what will I be able to do?
Meet the book-keeping and accounts needs of a small business.

Hands-on exercises will build up your practical skills. You are also invited to bring in some of your own work for your teacher to use as real-life examples.
