As the Principal of the Institute my role is to lead the organisation into its second century. The key issue for me is balance: maintaining traditional courses, teaching and learning whilst responding to the changes all around us, in the economy, in learner tastes and interests, in ICT and e-learning.

We also strive to maintain the highest standards of quality and equality of opportunity for which we are well-known. The Institute was established by Henrietta Barnett's marvellous initial vision and has endured a challenging recent history with multiple relocations. Now the Institute is safely established next to East Finchley Station we can focus solely on brilliant learning opportunities for all North Londoners.
